What do I like to read?
I am open to many genres and will usually decide what to read based on the book’s description. In general, I am most interested in:
- Contemporary/Literary Fiction
- Historical Fiction
- Young Adult
- Fantasy
- Classics
- Thriller/Suspense
- Mystery
- Nonfiction—Green Living, Health, Fitness
What do I not like to read?
I try to keep an open mind about books so I cannot say that I would never read a particular genre. However, I typically do not gravitate towards:
- Self-Help
- Chick Lit
- Crime
- Most Memoirs
- Politics
- Westerns
- Romance
- Self-Published
When will I post a review?
As you may have guessed from my blog’s title, I am a BUSY Bookworm! I work full time and have a family as well as other outside interests. I also read and review books that I have personally purchased. However, I try to make books on blog tours and ARCs a priority and read these within 1-2 months of receiving them. Other books may take me anywhere from 2-6 months. Of course, if you have a specific date in mind for your book, please let me know when you contact me.
Where will I post a review?
Naturally, Busy Bookworm Reviews is my primary review site; however, I may also post my review of your book on Goodreads.com, LibraryThing.com, and/or Amazon.com.
Will my reviews be honest?
Absolutely and unequivocally. My acceptance of a review copy does not guarantee that I will like a book, but it does guarantee that it will receive a fair review. I will write an honest and straight-forward opinion of a book no matter whether it came from a publisher, publicist, author or my own personal library. I do not write reviews to gain favors or popularity; I write reviews so that I can share my candid opinions of the books I read with other book lovers.
How do I rate books?
Although some of my earlier book reviews may not have a rating, from this point forward I will be rating the books I read on a scale between 1 and 5 Bookworms. The amount of Bookworms I award a book will indicate how much I enjoyed it! For example:
5 Bookworms: Run to the store right now and buy this book! Go ahead, I’ll wait…
4 Bookworms: This was a fabulous book and I recommend you read it.
3 Bookworms: This book was pretty good but didn’t knock my socks off.
2 Bookworms: While I’m glad I read this book, I felt it could have been better.
1 Bookworm: This is not a book I enjoyed and I would not recommend it.
Do I sell ARCs?
No. Occasionally, I may give them away on my site but I will never sell them.
Are the reviews on my site copyrighted?
You better believe it! I take pride in my work and I will not stand for it to be ripped off. Please do not copy any of my reviews, blog posts or other material on my blog without my written permission.
What else can you expect from my blog?
Anything bookish! I am more than happy to host a blog tour, conduct author interviews, host giveaways on behalf of authors and publishers and welcome authors as guest bloggers. All you have to do is ask!
